Why can't this be sliced?

w/ Prusaslicer 2.1.1 on win10/64:   I get an error when I try to slice the attached STL file.   The object is very simple: just a cube with two holes bored in it, standing on an edge so it'll print without supports.   It says there's a "empty layer".   What is wrong with the model?  Thanks!

What's the deal -- "file type not allowed".  It's just an STL file.. ????

OK, I give.  I've uploaded the STL file:

RE: Why can't this be sliced?

If I place your cube on the bed of PS as presented in your stl, the cube "hovers" above the bed, by 0.2 mm. I made a cube myself in f360, placed it the same way your stl is presented with the same (not good) result. Just use the "place on face" button on the left panel and place the cube on 1 side and it will be sliced perfectly, or use supports if you insists printing it that way (but why should you?)

Let us now if this is what you where looking for as a solution

@franskrau

Hmm.  I wonder how that happened.  It was at z=0 in fusion, I'm pretty sure.   I'm trying to print it without supports  but I think you're exactly right - if I put it face down, with the bore holes horizontal I think it'll print perfectly with  no supports

Thanks!

Try turning on Detect Thin Walls to allow Slicer to see the vertex of the cube that contacts the bed.  That will allow it to slice, but printing will be a bear. Best to rotate the part per the prior suggestion.
