Where is this random moving in mid air coming from??

This is my first post here.
I've been using Cura so far for my Modix Big60 V2, but I've run into several things that really bothered me so I started looking for a different solution.
Issues with very choppy - but perfectly circular - extrusion paths. Weird paths where cylindrical paths are expected. But also strange extrusions where I'd expect all gaps to be filled nicely and smoothly.
Example (left Cura, right PS):
The nice thing in Cura was that it was very easy to insert Mesh Modifiers of which the Z placement was referenced from the bottom of the object, which is really easy when you want to position several Mesh Modifiers.
PS does this from the center-point of the object, which leads to complicated calculations.
If I have a Mesh Modifier disk of dia 60mm and 0.6mm high, then it's really easy to enter Z=10.8mm if that would be where you'd want the bottom of the disk (measuring such dimensions in SolidWorks and such).
Also it's very nice to be able to select the Ironing Pattern in Cura.
I need to create a few chambers (in the counter object of this flange) that need a few O-rings to seal to this object.
But to my surprise I only see one ironing pattern in PS: Rectilinear...
Is it correct that there is really no other pattern possible (like Concentric or that nice Archimedean Chords that I see in PS now for the first time)?
What I really wanted to ask the experienced guys here is;
Why would PS generate these weird mid-air movements like you see below??
I was just checking the GCode using (gcode .ws) and that's when I spotted this weird behavior.
Does anybody have any idea?
