Weird slicer behaviour, what am I missing?

Hello,

I designed this thing in Fusion, and I want to be able to print it ideally in vase mode, or at least in a single continuous perimeter. But instead of slicing the model correctly, Prusa Slicer insists on cutting the line short. I'm using a 0.8mm nozzle, right now the wall thickness in the 3d model is 0.84mm. I've tried setting the Extrusion Width perimeters larger, equal or lower than the wall thickness of the model, tried both classic and Arachne wall generators. I'm a bit stuck 🤔

Any idea that might help?

Thanks

Can you  save the model in prusa slicer, as a. .3mf file. Then zip compress the .3mf file. And attach the zip file to your next post for us to test?

I suspect there may be some variable thickness in the curves where the software is approximating ...

To turn this into something that can be printed in vase mode:

Create a block a little larger in X and Y but the same in Z.

Use your part as a negative shape to cut the block.

Discard the outside, discard your original part and keep the resulting interior 'cast'.

This cast should print OK in vase mode but don't forget you've lost the exterior thickness so may need to slightly re-scale to fit.

It must be inverted before printing as it will be unprintable as designed.

Cheerio,
