Using the forum
Most/many forums have some sort of guidance on how to post for help, what to include, what not to include, how to search, etc. But I can find no such help here. Am I mussing something? Thanks for any help.
RE: Using the forum
Yes, its at the top of the general forum. https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/we-want-to-help-you-you-have-to-tell-us/
RE: Using the forum
You were posting this specifically in the Prusaslicer forum, so if there's only one thing, ONE THING, you can do to increase the changes of getting MEANINGFUL help–not just wild guesses, stabs in the dark, or just being ignored–is to include a zip-compressed 3mf project file. A 3mf file contains your STL but most importantly also ALL your settings, so folks here know exactly how you have set things up.
In PrusaSlicer, go to File/Save project as, to create the 3mf file. Zip-compress it to turn it into a .zip file (right-click Compress on Mac and Win11, right-click Send to/Compress on Win 10). Attach the zipped file to a post on this forum using Attach file below the text edit box. It has to be a zip file, or the inane forum software will silently reject it.

RE:
Neophyl. I want to thank you for the quick reply. I’m at my wits end trying to navigate the Forum. I got yours and FoxRun3D’s reply. Your site gave me some of the info I needed. I booked marked it. But I need more help and I find no way to reply to your answer. I do see “Log in to be able to post”, but right now I want to reply to you, not make a new post. So I try logging in. It then takes me to the English Forum site. I have been there many times but never found a place on that page post a question (that’s why I asked for help about posting). And I now have no idea how I even made the “How Do I” post originally. Nor did I find a place to reply to your answer. Is this site simply very poorly designed or am I simply too dumb to be able to navigate the Forum? Thanks ahead for any additional help. larsord
Well, as you can see I searched recent posts and I found "Reply" Only way I could find it.
You have to navigate to the individual forum -
From the 'English forum' sub directory navigate to
the ' Prusa software & others' directory and then to
the 'PrusaSlicer' forum - which contains this topic thread but instead of opening this thread you could click the 'Add topic' button at the top to start a new one.
Cheerio,
RE: Using the forum
You have got to be logged in (red arrow in screenshot below) to do pretty much anything.
To post, you have got to navigate to whatever forum you want to post in (blue arrow), then click on Add Post (yellow arrow)
I don't think this forum is any harder or easier to navigate than other but it sure has it's quirks.

Huh, I actually didn't realize that icon existed 🤔 I checked and it's in fact more than 100 notifications 🙂 I think the counter just stops at 100.
I mostly peruse the forum via RSS feeds, and followup notifications go to email, so that icon just went totally unnoticed.

RE:
Thanks everyone so much for trying to help. Even though I’m 90 I’m quite computer literate (been in electronic all my life). The few times I have used a forum (not Prusaslicer) I’ve had no problems navigating and, usually, finding an my answer. But I’m about to give up on the Prusaslicer Forum. I go to the Prusaslicer Forum (as FoxRun3d’s blue arrow showed in his screen shot. But I didn’t see the Yellow Arrow, or the “Add Post” that it pointed to ). The URL is: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/ so I log in thinking “maybe then I’ll be able to see “Add Post” and it says I’m logged in, but I’m no longer at the Prusaslicer page. I’m now at: https://forum.prusa3d.com/?code=PO0hcx19WapiRGMdAoCRKdQa6Gtpjk. The English Language Forum (mostly Prusa hardware stuff) and I see no way to get back to the Prusaslicer Forum from there. If I search for again and go to the Prusaslicer forum I’m no longer logged in. Over and over I’ve tried.
Diem (Thank you) says” From the English Forum” navigate to the Prusa software and Others directory>Prusaslicer Forum. I see no such options any where on the English Forum. So I still say I'm awfully dumb or the site could really be improved. Thanks again. larsord
RE: Using the forum
The forums software sucks. No other way to put it.
First, when you click on the image I included with the arrows, it should expand so you should see all the arrows I painted. All images here expand when you click on them.
so I log in thinking “maybe then I’ll be able to see “Add Post” and it says I’m logged in, but I’m no longer at the Prusaslicer page
Yes, that is one "feature" of the forum software. Normal software would take you back to where you came from to log in. Not here. It will take you back to the main forum page.
I see no way to get back to the Prusaslicer Forum from there
Scroll down three or four pages until you come to the Prusa Software & Others section, which contains the Prusaslicer forum. (Or use the back function in your browser a couple of times).
f I search for again and go to the Prusaslicer forum I’m no longer logged in.
Ah, another "feature" of the software! You are actually logged in but it'll show you a cached version of the page (or more precisely, it doesn't trigger a refresh of the cache by the browser). In my hands it doesn't matter if I use Safari or Chrome, after logging in and going back to where I came from (I use the back arrow in my browser), the page still shows as not logged in — until I refresh the page, with something like Cmd/Ctrl-R depending on your OS and browser.
Don't give up! The forums are a great source of knowledge of all things Prusa and unlike, say, Reddit, usually much higher-quality contributions.
