Understanding AutoSpeed Settings
Hi! I'm pretty new to 3D printing. My company recently bought a Prusa XL that I've been tasked with learning for the past few weeks. We are currently printing All in one torture test pieces for a multitude of filaments. I hear a lot of conflicting answer about print settings for the different filaments, and I didn't want to have to change every speed setting whenever I used a different filament. We've tested PLA, PC-ABS, TPU, and PETG so far. This has led me to the discovery of auto speed and auto volumetric speed, which I've been using without fully knowing what they do. My question is, do these settings cap every speed whenever they are input, and if not, how do these settings work? If it doesn't work that way, then I've been using those settings for seemingly no reason and somehow gotten good quality prints for about 5 different materials without changing any speeds

Max volumetric speed at Print Settings set the max speeds set in other places ( such as Filament Settings).
So yes,if your Print Settings are lower than any Filament settings then everything will be slowed down.
If you set Print Settings higher than per any Filament Settings then slicer should adjust settings per filament.
