Under extrusion after travel / retraction
I know this is an oft discussed topic but I have not found a good solution to our issue. On detailed multi-color prints we have issues with under-extrusion after travel and/or retractions. This is a first layer issue as these are cosmetic in nature parts. I've attached a picture (or tried to attach - hassle getting around things not working on forum).
As seen in the picture there is under- extrusion at the start of infill on the insides of small areas like the inside of the "P" and "e" and "o". Settings I have played with in PrusaSlicer include:
Perimeter speedSmall perimeter speedRetract speed - slowerDeretract speed - slower and fasterWipe before retract - on vs offRetract distance - less than defaultExtra length on restart - yeah... causes other issues that aren't acceptableNozzle temp - causes other cosmetic issues - stringing
Main thing I tend to do is slow things down and increase flow rate from 95 to 102 or so. Not the best solutions.

So I can attach AND embed the 8 ball image (jpg 27kb) but not a relevant image (also jpg - 147kb).

If this works then not the size or that it's a JPG but rather source of image? Weird

How are you attaching them ? Are you using the attach button bottom left of the text entry field or are you using the Add Media button top left of the text entry field ?
Add Media lets you insert multiple images into one post and the attach only lets you attach one item. Not sure if that will help with the weird source of image problem you seem to have but its worth trying.
I'd also try loading the image into something like paint.net and re-saving them as a test. That should strip off any extra data the google phone may have stored within the image file itself.

@Neophyl for the win as usual. I saved it from Paint.net and then it uploaded no problem. I tried transferring from the Google Pixel 7 directly to my computer without using Google Photos/Drive (to eliminate that as the issue) but of course haven't been able to get computer to recognize the Pixel. Task for another day.
Glad to have something that makes the forums usable again.
