System presets
My system presets seem to disappear far too frequently. Running the configuration wizard and selecting the appropriate printers does absolutely nothing. How do I get them back?
RE: System presets
Wow crickets.
Any ideas?

What version of Prusaslicer are you using? What printer have you configured Prusaslicer for?
RE: System presets
I’d add to that, what operating system are you using. Given I have never had that issue and from extensive reading both here and in GitHub it doesn’t seem to be a common problem, it is not surprising that you haven’t had a flood of posts.
There are many things is could potentially be. If when you next lose them you look in the configuration folder and see if the base ink file are still there, and then open them in a text editor and look at their contents. If your selected printers are still in there then the files themselves would be ok probably. That then leads to looking at what profile you have selected when you can’t see them. A lot of the profiles are only visible if you have specific printer selected for example. Without actually being at your computer and running down a list of possible things it’s going to be difficult to help.

What printers specifically? The Prusa supplied filament and print settings presets are set to depend on a Prusa printer. If you have customized your printed profiles or are using a non-Prusa printer, the system default presets will appear and disappear. I've written up some notes on the topic here that might be helpful. In particular, look at the text in the green boxes for details on dependencies and inheritance.

PrusaSlicer version 2.3.0+win64

I will look at this thank you.
RE: System presets
The profile said Prusa but it wasn't. Selecting the printer from the system presets, now shows system presets in print settings.
I will have to wrap my head around that but no problem. Thank you all.

If you need help getting access to the Prusa system presets when using another printer or a custom Prusa printer profile, let us know. I and others are happy to remove the dependencies and upload a custom "config bundle" for you to install. I made a copy of some of the Prusa filament profiles that can be used with any printer. You can access it here.

RE: System presets
Just to be sure, what printer do you have? What printer did you select when you ran the config wizard?

MKS3 and I added Ender3 as well.
RE: System presets
The user profile misidentified the species as Prusa. When a printer is chosen from a list of system defaults, those defaults will appear in the print settings menu.
