Split drops all separate parts to build plate

Dear all,

I have a strange problem. Yesterday I loaded an STL from Fusion 360 into my Prusa Slicer. The file contains multiple bodies, so I used Slicer to Split - To Objects. The one object was split into its component objects and all objects stayed in their proper place, such that I was able to print them with my XL in two different filaments. Now today I try the same thing again and the moment I split the imported object, all component objects are repositioned to rest on the build plate instead of in their proper places. I am not aware of doing anyting differently, so I am stumped as to what is causing this. I guess it's just a little setting somewhere, but the problem must lie with Slicer, since I didn't change the STL since exporting it from Fusion 360 yesterday.

Does anyone have an idea?

Best,
Stefan.

Are you sure you used split to Objects initially ?  Splitting to Objects I would EXPECT that all the now separate objects fall to the bed, as that's what Objects do.  An Object must touch the bed at some point.

Splitting to PARTS preserves the relative positioning.  I suspect you used split to Parts on your first go.
