Slicer settings for continous outer wall with single-width wall segments?
I checked "detect thin walls" in PrusaSlicer 2.1.0 to allow this single wall strength here in this picture. Is there a way to have the slicer use a continuous outer wall? The way it is slicing now i get not so nice gaps (second picture) and a more brittle end result.

You can set seam position to rear, or aligned. But hard to know if that is a seam or an artifact of your part design.
As for making that small insert appear continuous, you'll need to make sure that piece is at least 1 layer thickness (0.45 mm?) in your design or else it will be treated as a thin wall.

THANKS!
When the small wall was 0.6mm it extruded to a two perimeter wall @ 0.8mm. That's why I lowered the thickness to 0.35mm resulting in the above problem.
With your suggestion I have the small wall to 0.46 now resulting in a single perimeter wall @0.4mm
Thanks sooo much!
