Slicer misses support structures
Heya, slicer newbie here; sorry if this is a RTFM...
I designed a case and tried to slice it in PrusaSlicer 2.3.3 linux with supports everywhere. However, the slicer seems to miss one support area which is clearly not printable in mid air. The sliced file is here, obviously there's an area spared from the build plate which should have support. Am I making a mistake or did I discover a bug in the current PrusaSlcier?
Appreciate any comment, thx!

Hi and welcome,
RearCase JT
Try this!
the area which was unsupported, was a bridge area...
and by default,
'Don't Support Bridges', is turned on...
I also changed the Contact Z distance, to make supports easier to remove

Newbie problems 😉
Oh, thx so much Joan. I feel ashamed, should indeed spend more time with the SW and/or the documentation. Highly appreciate your help!
Happily printing in Taiwan now,

supports
Cheers Hans,
It's something many folk miss.
Supports usually support the open edges of Bridges and if the Bridge angle can be adjusted to bridge across the shortest direction of the unsupported area. you don't always need to support bridges.
Supports can use significant material and increase print times. and they can be difficult to remove.
I try and orientate models such that I limit support and support marks as much as possible when I place items on the slicer plater.

The worms are out of the can...
Thx both! Yeah, studying the doc as we chat 🙂
I'm even thinking of redesigning the case since it indeed eats a lot of support material, no matter how I rotate it. Probably I'll split it into several parts that I assemble later - printing flat surfaces onto the plate. Lots to learn and consider with this new hobby 🙂
