SIMPLIFYING A MODEL

new to multi-color printing and i find that painting colors with Triangles is way much easier after simplifying a model to 50%. I am however concerned the quality of print will be compromised by doing this. is my assumption true? TIA.

RE: SIMPLIFYING A MODEL

Well you are simplifying the underlying structure of your model so of course the perceived quality can be effected depending on the model.  Highly smooth curved surfaces for example.

Enable the show wireframe option on the simplify tool if you want a better visualisation of how much the model will be effected.

This can also affect the print quality. When reducing the number of polygons, the details of the model can be lost, especially in curved or complex areas. The colors will be divided into each triangular block, creating clear separation lines, which can make the printed surface look angular and less smooth. To be sure, print with a few small copies to make sure it is of good quality or not
