Scaling through PrusaSlicer or Fusion360
I have scanned a 3d object. When I will printed on 2x of his dimension, what is the best way for keeping the best detailled version of the object ? Using Fusion 360 x2 or using the PrusaSlicer x2?

If it's an STL you're scaling I wouldn't expect to see much difference even though some differences in scaling algorithms may yield slightly different results. But if the geometry of the object allows you to convert it to a BREP in Fusion and reduce the number of triangles, I'd expect scaling in Fusion to give you better results.

ok - thanks

For the best detailed version of your object, Fusion 360 might be the better choice due to its advanced scaling and detail management capabilities. You can refine the mesh and ensure that the details are preserved during the scaling process. Once scaled, you can then import the model into PrusaSlicer for printing.

adding scope to this post about scaling...
I could be missing something very easy, but it doesn't look like I can change X/Y/Z scale factors individually. I'm pretty sure I was able in an older version.

In the object manipulation box there is a lock icon. Guess what that does ... 🙂
RE: Scaling through PrusaSlicer or Fusion360
@jgeiger2024 yes you can. There's a small padlock icon to the left of the scale fields in PS, click it to unlock. You can then type in individual scales for x/y/z. That hasn't changed in ages.

I knew it should be something simple! Thanks!
