RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
1: gradient speeds and accelerations for perimeters (set inner and outer perimeter parameters) slicer will interpolate, depending on the perimeter count(Cura has second perimeter settings, but this would be less parameter-intensive).
2:Allow custom jerk settings for different features.
3:Integrated UART printer host would be nice. Printrun is great, but no longer maintained and Octoprint sux.
4:material shrinkage ratio in the filament parameters? (I scrapped enough ABS because I forgot to account for it)
5:First layer should have a different sequence, it should print longest lines first as the anchor for small details, it would greatly improve first layer reliability
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
All bug reports and feature requests should be made at the Prusa Slicer Github located here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc
Please check if the requested feature or bug report is already there (highly likely given there are over 1600 open tickets) before starting a new post. It should also be one post for each feature or bug so that they can be tracked separately.
From your list item 3 has been posted many times. I know your Item 4 is already there. I also recall seeing a request already for your item 5.
Issues on Github are tracked and will get a ticket number. The devs actively use it, as opposed to here which is mainly a user to user forum.

I'd really like to be able to switch to a different printing profile after an M600. At present there is no way of changing retraction setting mid print via modifiers...unless I've missed something.

I would post this on GitHub:

That will get you more traction than the forum.

You can do this with a "pseudo extruder".
- Create a printer profile and configure it for multiple extruders.
- Set different retraction settings for each extruder.
- Divide your print up into colors, using a different extruder for each area.
Here's a pic showing the basic idea:

Paint on Fuzzy Skin
It would be great to be able to apply the fuzzy skin texture to certain parts of models using the "paint on" feature.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
I often split an stl to parts. I have some specific settings I apply to text, currently I have to copy and paste the settings between each letter. I'd love to be able to select multiple parts and paste to apply the settings in one go. Alternatively, make them a group and apply the settings that way in one.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
If you select the parts, each letter in this case cant you use the merge function to make them one object ? Once merged then apply your settings.

I just checked and it's not available if you split an stl to parts as the individual parts are still part of the single stl it seems. I presume if I split to objects this would work but then they act as individual items which isn't what i need. I make a number of custom signs and often I change things like perimeter settings to a single perimeter for the letters.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
Would you mind posting a sample project that I could experiment with ?
RE:
Example attached. You should see some of the modifiers I use on the letter, I typically add in my new stl and split to parts. Then use CTRL V to copy those settings and CTRL V to each letter in the new sign. It's pretty efficient but if I could do it with one command it would save time and possible mistakes. Thanks.
edit: changed 3mf to txt so I could attach
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
A minor change I'd like to see is when using the mouse wheel to zoom in/out, have the view focussed on the position of the mouse pointer rather than fixing it to the middle of the screen. Quite a lot of other programs do that.

Once again, for those who haven't read the earlier posts in this thread, the forum is not the place to create feature requests. The Prusa Slicer github is. While it can still take months or even years to get a change made, at least you have a chance. Here its wasted effort.
Unless its the subject of one of the polls in the general forum being run especially by staff.
Its highly likely that a request already exists too so go search and add support there.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
Sure, but I don't use Github so here is the only place I can mention it.
RE:
It's pointless, Ive spent hours not only looking at old requests and bug fixes but also pointing out bugs and major flaws, in most cases you will be told we would rather not do that or that will have to wait for a future version, to think that you could spend hours preparing one post for the developers, even as an experienced user, or program developer, repeatedly only to find out that it doesn't meet Prusa's current agenda, is a waste of time, it doesn't matter what you say or show them, if it's not on the board you won't see it changed. but it is true, squeaky wheel gets the grease, so it's probably things like displacement and silly non experienced user toys, as apposed to things that really matter like the ability to collapse a drop down and have it's position remembered (Basic functionality) or be able to use a height range modifier without loosing all the layers under it, and the list goes on.
Good Luck Slicer Users things appear to be going down hill. At least we still have the older versions that work properly.

@Swiss_Cheese
I am sorry for your dissatisfaction with the work of my team. Would you please share your github user name, so we can re-evaluate your gripes that you have reported on github?
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
It would be great if we could limit the use of Linear Advance to External perimeters only (Including Bridges, Small perimeters etc.)
It would greatly reduce extruder noise, extruder wear and print time. As Linear advance is mostly an esthetical thing it makes no sense applying it to infill and inner perimeters.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
How do you print the first layer from the back to the front? No matter how I rotate the model PrusaSlicer always prints the first layer from the from to the back. It would be so much better if the new line being laid down was in front of the previous line so you can easily see the filament when fine tuning the first layer height. Especially since the MK2 & MK3 have the fan duct right in front of the nozzle.
Faith is not believing. It's believing when all odds are against you and failure is inevitable. Believe in yourself, that's the key.
RE: PrusaSlicer and feature requests
Like to know why it's not possible (or rather very difficult 2.3.3) to get support/ model heights synchronized. I'm pretty new at this game ,and new on prusa ,up till now I've used Cura/Ender3V2), but I would think that logic says if you have a hotted sweeping a surface it SHOULD have a level surface ,otherwise after a certain time you'll get problems . Maybe the new update solves this , but I don't want to go there until I see if 2.3.3 and me get along together.
