RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release
@karl-herbert
I like Simplify 3D for some things, but prefer PS for most.

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release
@cwbullet
S3D is too old-fashioned for me - no innovations, poor support. Anyway, I never received any answers regarding MMU2 requests and then turned to the forum experts. In the meantime I rarely work with S3D.
PS is a fine product and will continue to be developed (I hope so) 👍

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release
Is anyone else seeing an issue with modifier dimensions not being correctly applied? The "Part Manipulation" fields seem to be confused when you apply dimensions to change the shape of a modifier. For example, after unlocking the aspect ratios, entering a Y dimension now also changes the X dimension in an unpredictable way instead of it remaining unchanged. So, if I enter an X dimension of 4.5mm and then enter the same dimension for the Y dimension, the X then changes to something else rather that staying at 4.5mm. Also, the position of the modifier seems to be uncoordinated with the appropriate "Position" field setting. For instance, I have to change the X position number to have the modifier move in the Z dimension! The image of the modifier also often appears to be obviously not the same as what is in the Manipulation settings.
Here is an example of an obviously symmetrical cylinder whose X and Y dimensions are however shown not to be the same in the Manipulation fields, even though the scale factors are. Changing any of these seems to cause a random change in the aspect ratio rather than making the modifier take the dimensions that you've entered:

Another thing -- notice that the Rotation values are X=90, Y=0, and Z=270. These changed from X=0, Y=0, and Z=0 as soon as I applied the modifier. When I set them back to zero, the modifier moves as if I were setting the rotation to those previous angles! Certainly didn't see this behaviour in pre-2.3.0 releases.
RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release
There’s a issue on GitHub where things get mixed up if you have scaled or adjusted the original part. At that point it becomes difficult to use the modifiers as the scaling/rotation seems to get applied to the modifier in non obvious ways.

@neophyl
Ok, thanks. I'll look for the discussion on GitHub. Didn't think I would be the only one who encountered this!

@neophyl
Also I tink if you spin the part X and Y stay with the part, which may or maynot be intentional but is certainly confusing if your working on a old .3MF

I will agree on the poor support. I read about it on the net. I have not needed help with it.
I have fount their supports to be easier to remove.

Why is there so much disparity between the downloads? Prusa site has a 359mb and 65mb and then gitub has a 42mb. Which one do I use?
RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 - Final release
@shags72
I believe one is just Prusaslicer and the other is everything, drivers, samples, etc.
No longer opens on Windows 10
After upgrading my install Prusa slicer will no longer open. I tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling and the same thing happens. Or rather doesn't happen. It gets to the splash screen and hangs on "preparing settings tabs". I am running the 64 bit version on Windows 10. All my windows updates are up to date.

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 Final Release
I have an idea for future improvements of the multimaterial prints.
If you could add a obj file with associated textures, and print the 3d model according the texture separation, it would be awsome!
Standalone installer does not install anything but just exits
Same problem with installer PrusaSlicer_Win_standalone_2.3.3.exe: just after the installation starts it offers to exit the installation, and installation aborts whatever one chooses.
FYI - I tried to install 2.3.0 using the stand alone installer link on this page:
https://www.prusa3d.com/prusaslicer/
This was two days ago. It downloaded the file PrusaSlicer_Win_standalone_2.3.0.exe correctly. When I installed from that file, I got an error message about needing to uninstall a previous version first, which the installer seemed to do (it left the old file name in the Programs and Features app in Windows 7 x64). It then installed version 2.2.0. I thought I screwed something up, so I ran the installer again, selected repair, and was still left with version 2.2.0. Next I tried running prusaslicer-updater.exe, and it said I had the latest version.
I ultimately downloaded the .zip from Github to get 2.3.0. The standalone installer seems to not work, at least for me.

Hangs on OSX - Catalina
Just downloaded 2.3.3+x64 and it will not run.
It hangs with this message
I would really like to use it but cannot get it running.
OSX Catalina 10.15.7.
Prusa slicer has full access to disk and files via security settings on Catalina.
Can anyone help?
