prusaslicer 2.0.0 filament profiles - colorfabb XT

newbie to 3d printing, scientific background, enthusiastic about improvement of methods to the ideal here - if this post is at the wrong place, please feel free to move it to another part of the forum.

i got some colorfabb XT dark green filament from E3D (it was on sale - i got 3 spools as i read quite positive stuff about it) while getting more nozzles for my mk3s kit. i am successfully printing with the profile i found in the prusaslicer 2.0.0 (archlinux)... the settings are:

first layer: 260 °C / 90 °C

other layers: 270 °C / 90 °C

max material flow 8mm³/s

despite a method working (see e.g. https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/4536-wide-vase-i2-bigger-less-steep-xt ), i was wondering... why so high temperatures (on the box, colorfabb declared 240-260 °C ideally) and especially why keeping the bed at 90 °C for so long. in addition, the heatwave now in switzerland motivated me to keep printing, but try to reduce the temperature so that the room is not heating up even more 😉 - ambient 27 °C - 29 °C

so i reduced bed temp to 80 °C, printed the same thing ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2974736) again (i need 4 😉 ) and it came out great again. hmm... so now i reduced the bed to 77 °C and printing the 3th for now very successfully. PEI smooth bed coated with glue stick or printafix both work fine (glue stick leaves a pattern on the first layer, with the printafix coat, it stays smooth

before now reducing nozzle temp also, i am curious how the profiles in prusaslicer came to be, what data/experiments they base upon and how one can contribute to optimisations and extension of them.

1) heat bed temp range: and downsides i may encounter with the lower temp?

2) why the nozzle temp 10 K over the recomended range of 240-260 °C? i realise all PET profiles i find in prusaslicer are first layer -10 K compared to the next ones and in general a bit on the hotter side compared to manufacturers recommendations

3) what is the process and data base for the profiles i find in prusaslicer and is there a way to contribute to them? i also got some extrudr BDP and PETG glowEx which i didnt yet use and didnt see a profile in prusaslicer so once i dialed in the right setup, how do i share it?
