Prusa Slicer removing top surface no matter what.
Hi,
I'm trying to slice this model. I tried resetting my config to defaults, repairing the STL, reexporting the STL after re-meshing... Still prusa slicer does not like the shape for some reason.
Please have a look. 3mf attached.

no 3mf attached. You have to zip up most files for the forum to allow them. Its best to check after posting that its there as the edit window is also very short.
RE:
No idea why the file didn't attach. Trying again.
Thank for letting me know one has to zip it. Why is there no message by the forum software? It looks like it is supposed to work and just does nothing...

Your model has a yellow triangle next to it in the tree list indicating it has problems. Hovering over that shows that it has 166 open edges. That's why it doesn't slice correctly.
If you are on windows you can use the right click and fix option (uses the windows built in software to fix the models). After that it slices fine.
I also imported the obj into Blender and its 3dprint tool also identified 166 Non Manifold edges. Unfortunately Blenders fix tool was not successful, and ended up removing large parts of the model. So the windows one wins there.
Of course if its your model then it would be much better to figure out what part of your workflow is causing broken geometry and fix it at source. That way you don't have similar problems in the future.
Slicers generally cant deal with Non Manifold problems. They don't know what is inside or outside of the solid volume and often their 'best guess' is just not correct. I took a look at the vertices in Blender and yeah, its messed up. There's verts that should be connected to enclose a solid volume that aren't and weird surfaces inside the solid volume that shouldn't be there.
