Prusa slicer G-Code not working for Ender5 Plus

Hello all! I just wanted to ask if anyone is a user of an Ender 5+ ?

I've recently gotten into 3D Printing within my workplace, however, we're having issues with the "Pause" at layer Height / "Change Colour" not working for the Ender5+

I have watched countless videos and struggling to find a successful fix. I have done everything within Prusa Slicer from just pressing the (+) icon, I even tried the custom GCODE mode. But no matter what, none of us at the office can get the machine to stop so we can change the filament.

Anyone willing to help will be greatly appreciated!

RE:

It depends entirely on the firmware of your Ender 5.  Firstly the firmware has to support a given gcode command.  If the firmware doesnt support it then its not possible to do it.  There are also several different gcode commands that it could be using IF they have been enabled in firmware.

The trick is figuring out what the version your printer has supports and then adding that command to the gcode field in Prusa Slicer.

For example this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/ender5plus/comments/lqm9xn/ender_5_plus_not_staying_paused_using_cura/   seems to indicate that the ender 5 firmware does not support pause fully and that edited firmware is required to make it 'behave'.

Thank you for getting back to me on this! We will be looking into ways to change up the machine, but looks like we need an extra Printer (Nothing wrong with getting more Printers at work!)
