Prusa Slicer 2.3 Supports

I'd recently printed a Ford Key Fob Holder using TPU. It printed OK, except that it really needed supports internally for the roof.  Strands are sagging. Usability is OK, because it functions.

I decided to try this with the new 2.3 Alpha. This single piece has a base and a roof. I'd like to add supports for the roof. The end is open, so they'd be easy to remove. I cannot add supports internally. I painted the inside, the outside, and tried different support settings. Everything gets marked, but no  supports are generated. Can this be done?

I haven't had the same issues.  I take it you are using the alpha 3 pre-release ?  What have you got selected as support type ?  On build plate only or all over ?

Please save your problem project (File>Save as) which will save a 3mf file.  The 3mf will contain your model but more importantly all the settings you are using to slice with and any modifiers etc.  Take the 3mf and zip it up.  Needs to be zipped for the forum to accept it.  When we have that we can see what's happening.

Would it perhaps be possible placing it on it's narrow side to lessen the bridging distance?

Is it your model? Then perhaps try designing a 1 extrusion wide wall in cad as support.

There are a few youtube videos about designing builtin supports.

In print settings under support material make sure Don't support bridges is unchecked.

Be aware that TPU supports can be tricky.

Bingo!! I missed that option. That solved the problem. Thanks for all the help. I'm probably not going to reprint this. I just thought it would be a good test for the 'paint' option of the slicer. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:754669

Supports everywhere also works, but that wasn't what I was testing.

Thanks again.

You are welcome.
