Print ONLY an infilled pattern?

I have an idea to print a 'mesh screen' and the infill patterns make make for neat ideas.  I was watching this video and all he was was 'using special settings', which doesn't help when I'm trying to figure this out as well.

I'm going to guess that if you create a box, sink the bottom layer down(so essentially it gets ignored) and then learn how to not print the top layer, so all you would be left with is a frame and mesh.

Thoughts?

Setting perimeters and top and bottom layers to 0 creates an object with only infill.
