Print area blocker - Define a small section of a model to NOT print?
Kind of a stupid question, but I'm wondering if there's a way in Prusa Slic3r to define a small area of a model to NOT be printed.
In this example, I'm trying to print a low voltage gang box, and a 6 port KeyStone wall plate.
The wall plate is ever so slightly too large for the gang box, so I was hoping to trim the print a smidge (as opposed to post processing).
Orange = Gang Box
Beige = Wall Plate
Green = Area I'd like to cut from the Gang Box model
Effectively, I want to cut/subtract/remove the green area, from the Orange model. Is this possible at all within Prusa Slic3r?
RE: Print area blocker - Define a small section of a model to NOT print?
Personally I would just use a cad program to modify the model properly. However you can just use a Negative volume. Right click on the part and select Add Negative Volume. You can then either load in another object to use as your negative, in your example the green part or you can choose one of the built in primatives.
This is fairly basic functionality covered in the Prusa Slicer knowledge base https://help.prusa3d.com/article/negative-volume_238503
RE: Print area blocker - Define a small section of a model to NOT print?
I've never used the negative volume features before. I'm also hesitant to use CAD software because A.) I'm extremely novice at it, and B.) This is a one and only print. I was just hoping for a quick bodge fix in Prusa Slic3r.
I will check out the Negative Volume feature you mentioned and see if this helps accomplish what I'm after!
Much appreciated :D!
