Power usage costs (calculation)

Hi, able to see the costs for the material used when its set in the filament, would be nice to have the same based on the printer power, it knows how long the printer needs to run, so a cost for kw/h would be ideal, especially if it can factor in the warmup and test time.

Many Thanks

The standard Prusa power supply is 240w - you don't say which printer you have, some use more than one power supply, count them.

At absolute max power consumption each power supply uses under a quarter of a kilowatt hour per hour - most of the time with ordinary prints they run about half power.

So: A three hour print on a 5head XL using technical, high temperature filament might use nearly 3*3*¼ kilowatt hours = 2¼

But ordinary PLA will be closer to 1¼ kilowatt hours.

A three hour PLA print on a MK4 will be probably be under ½ a kilowatt hour.

Cheerio,
