Object too big - can the software divide it?

Hi everyone,

I need a waterproof box which is bigger than the print bed.

My question: can the Prusa Slicer divide it automatically and make 4 separate gcode files?

So I could print 4 parts and glue them together.

Does the software fulfill this?

Many thanks for your answers.

Merry Christmas

Christof

@sparkpoint

You can use the Cut tool in slicer  to chop the box into as many pieces as you like, then print them separately.

I found a solution: Meshmixer.

My experience:

Meshmixer - too complicated.

Slic3er - don't make the effort.

3DBuilder (MS Windows) - oh my god, so easy. Great results.

Tinkercad - great, but needs workaround.

My opinion is that PS is one of the best .stl file splitters I've found.

It's easier and simpler than the FreeCAD split-with-a-plane function and it consistently produces good .stl files of the pieces.
