1. Right-click on plate
2. "Add shape" -> "Box"
3. Resize box to 10 x10 x10 and put it at for example x100 y100
4. Right-click "Shape-box" in object window
5. Select "Add part" -> "Cylinder"
8. Resize cylinder to 10 x20 and put it at same place as box
9. Z-position for Box should be 5 (Z-centre of box), and for Cylinder 10.
10. Change Z-position for Cylinder to "20", that means the centre of the cylinder should be at 20mm height = 10 above plate

So far so good but now with "cube" of 10  10 x 2 mm and cylinder of 10 x 20.
Can't get World coor. lifted to Z=11 !

CylinderCenter (10) plus CubeHeight (2) is 12
Cylinder should be at 12 Z-position

Correct: CubeHeight is 12. But can't get it up further than 10 mm

Ehh... no. I have also encountered the problem of sinking. This question was meant to get a clear and simple understanding of how it works.

My actual goal is to get text (Shapestring from FreeCAD) ON a background of a 1st layer. 1st layer white and the text red.

I managed to do that once, but I don't remember how and I didn't save the file.

Can you help with that? 😉

I have no experience of FreeCAD so I can't help you with that part

However, color change at certain height in PS is the easiest way to deal with simple signs
1. Export complete stl from cad-program
2. In Preview window, push the "+"- sign to correct height in "heightbar"
3. Rightclick and select "Add color change"
4. Done
