New functions request for aesthetic walls and strenghtened walls
good morning I want to publish also in this forum the request that I have already posted in Github issues, to suggest to consider to implement two new functions in next versions of PrusaSlicer.
In particular, it seems necessary to have the possibility of indicating some parts of the model, with a method quite similar to that used to "paint" the seams and supports, to indicate the presence of "aesthetic walls" (or in alternative to consider default "not particularly aesthetic walls" and only the "painted" to be changed in "aesthetic"); for these walls is not essential to take care of the speed of finishing, as well as the "walls that need to be strengthened" to increase the structural rigidity of the model, with an increase in the thickness and depth of the inserts of the filling on the external walls.
I hope that these functions can be pratically derived from those relating to supports and seams, in particular adding two new variables, the first for a renforced thickness of external walls and the second as a logical flag to be considered only if you deliberately indicate an "aesthetic need" on external walls and/or for top layer!
Tank you!
ciao
Thickness is a matter for your design software. If you meant the outer perimeter count then it can already be adjusted with a modifier.
The aesthetic quality is not really a printing issue, anything that important will be dealt with post-printing with abrasive, laquers or paints.
Cheerio,
