I'm going to start playing around with those techniques for sure! I wish I had know some of this stuff for past projects.

Hoping someone might be able to help with what I assume is a setting I am missing somewhere in prusaslicer.

Every once in a while I come across a situation where I want a specific support or a brim that isn't quite supported by the built-in slicer settings. For example, I may want a brim ear on a specific corner. I've tried to design some of these supports into my model but I am running into challenges with the separation distance.

For example, this file I wanted to add a brim to an interior part, so I made 0.2mm high brim (planned on printing 0.2mm layer height) and placed a small gap (0.1mm) from the stem where I wanted the brim.

When loading this STL in prusaslicer and slicing the model, the gap appears to be a full extrusion width away from the object rather than 0.1mm.

This results in the brim being fully detached from the object. The green lines on the outside is the brim that the slicer added on the exterior wall with a 0.1mm gap as set in the slicer, so I assume its possible to get the same gap on elements inside the model, but I can't figure out how to not treat this gap as a full extrusion width.
