Issue with Printing Order/Sequence in Prusa Slicer
Dear Everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with the printing order/sequence in the slicing process. As shown in the attached screenshot, the printer starts at area 1, then moves to 2, 3, 4, and finally 5. I am unsure why PrusaSlicer does not follow a more logical sequence, such as moving in a normal rectangular pattern along one axis before transitioning to the second axis. I tried all of the seam position including rear, aligned, nearest, and random and all of them didn't fix the issue. Unfortunately, this slicing sequence is negatively affecting the quality of my printed parts.
I would greatly appreciate any insights or assistance in resolving this issue.
Thank you,
Ragab

That is the logical order for a monotonic fill pattern. I know I shouldn't assume but that's the common default so I am making that assumption.
If you don't know how a monotonic pattern works its supposed to print away from existing extrusions. What happens when you fill in an area and then fill in another area and have the 2 areas meet it you get a small ridge where the material butts up against each other. With monotonic it starts the new area next to the already printed area and works away from it to fill in what it can.
Seam position has very little to do with infill.
So take your are 1, its printing side to side filling in between the perimeters, when it gets to the narrow middle (2) the side to side can go all the way across. So area 1 &2 is perfectly logical as its actually just a single area.
So it starts printing in area 3 away from the existing filled section working its way side to side, in effect working 'upwards' between the bounding perimeters.
Then it does the same for area 4 , working away from section 1/2 till thats filled in. Finally it does area 5 in the same manner. It's following an absolutely logical pattern once you know that it always filling away from existing areas its already filled in.
Not sure why you are having a negative experience as in mine a monotonic infill pattern gives better results. On the bottom layer you could just change the infill pattern to something else, such as rectilinear.
