how to reduce support? it is making a "baseplate"
I am using Prusaslicer 2.7.1 and auto support, Prusa XL single nozzle
it is creating a very thick "baseplate" which seems very wasteful.
also, i have to !HACK! the shit out of it to remove it.
anyway not to have it?

Without your saved project file we can't examine your settings. However looking at your pics it looks like you are using pretty standard support settings. Support by default has a ~3mm First Layer Expansion. so there is a 3mm extra around the base of all your organic trees or any other support type. These all merge obviously. That can be set to zero. You can also change the first layer support density. Both of those are 'red' settings so you need to be in expert mode to see them.
Also you really should play around with other orientations. For example if you orient it like this you need MUCH less support (shown without support). (I had to scale up that model by loads and its not really scaled correctly for the example pic)
The are some lower areas on the rear details that need support but all the high up stuff will probably print okay even without support. The bottom surface will be rough but as that's inside the helmet who cares.
With support (Id use snug and not organic) you only need very little.
Not really impressed by that model though and I wouldn't print something so low poly and with so many issues. Dont think the neck hole looks large enough either. Probably need to split the lower back off to allow a head to get in.
