How to move purge tower off buildplate to activate side wipe

It keeps snapping the tower back to origin.  I need to move purge tower off the build plate to activate sidewipe, but it won't let me. Any help is appreciated

Print Settings > Multiple Extruders > Wipe tower > Enable

Uncheck this.

i tried this, and it does not initalize a tool change.  it prints the 2nd color right after the first color without wiping.   is there a way to be able to place objects outside of the build plate and stay in place?  the post processing script asks to place the purge block outside the build plate to activate the side wipe action in the script(P2PP)

Let's go back a couple of steps: What are you trying to do?

So I'm using my palette3 pro with prusaslicer, my mk3s, and post proscessing script p2pp( https://github.com/vhspace/p2pp) for multicolor printing.  The post processing script requires you to move the purge block outside of the build plate to enable side wiping.  Any release of ps after version 2.8.0, you are not able to place anything outside the build plate. I'm in the process of testing using release 2.8.0.

OK, this idea had some currency three or four years ago; I didn't know anyone actually used it...

Most people went the Manual MMU route:
