How does an ol' dummy like me change the support settings?

I want to make the supports easier to remove, and I found some settings (by user bobstro) that are supposed to be good:

0.25mm z distance.

75% xy distance.

3mm support spacing.

4 interface layers.

0.2mm interface layer spacing.

So far, so good. The problem is that I'm an old dog and have a hard time learning new tricks. I'm totally new to 3D printing, and I can't figure out exactly where these values need to be entered. For example: The 4 interface layers can be entered under "Top Interface Layers" or "Bottom Interface Layers", and the 0.25mm z distance can be entered under "Raft Contact Z distance", "Top Contact Z distance" or "Bottom Contact Z distance". I just don't know the difference, and I suspect that I could make a mess if I enter them in the wrong place.

Also: Do I have to change the settings for all print options (ie from 0.05mm ultradetail to 0.30mm draft), or is there a way to enter them as user default values?

I would greatly appreciate some help with this! I'm at a total loss, since I don't have any experience and I'm not familiar at all with the nomenclature. If you use these settings, a screenshot would probably be more helpful than anything!
