How do I see the generated g-code in the slice preview

With OrcaSlicer I can see a panel with the g-code synchronized to the layer and tool sliders. I can't find the equivalent for PrusaSlicer. Does it exist?

This is what OrcaSlicer displays:

To add to this, I'm running on MacOS. Does this feature not exist for the MacOS UI?

I guess I'll just use OrcaSlicer from now...

Have you not looked at the list for keyboard shortcuts ? (Help>Keyboard shortcuts or just '?').  C is the shortcut for viewing gcode listing on the slice preview tab.

However you do have to have the bottom Horizontal slider in a position other that at the end.  For some bizarre reason the gcode listing self hides once the slider is all the way over to the right.

Yes, I found out about the C shortcut. What I didn't know is that it can't be displayed with the tool scrubber to the right. So I assumed it was not supported. This is a stupid bug. Why on earth can't it be access from the UI screen as well? It should simply be displayed by default.

RE: How do I see the generated g-code in the slice preview

I'm not sure about the other OSes, but on my Winblows PS 2.9.4 install the g-code view opens up automagically once I start scrubbing left and right on the bottom slider for the in-layer preview. This shows the g-code with the current line centered in the list and surrounded with an orange box (at least in dark mode), similar to the Orca screenshot, above. It also shows the nozzle position on the model. See this screenshot:

I just discovered something, the just above the bottom horizontal slider is a "Position" box that appears to have an up arrow on the right side. For the first time using Prusa slicer I clicked that button and was presented with a detailed stats roll-up window. See this screenshot:

And if you click the "Show table" button in the roll-up you get a table showing the actual speed values that is interactive with the actual speed plot. See this screenshot:

Lots of details there for troubleshooting problematic prints. (And bonus for me also learning something new about PrusaSlicer while answering this question.)

I actually like that it isn't there all the time. I only occasionally need to look at it and otherwise it is just extra clutter on the screen. I guess I just have a different workflow than you do, which is fine.

Why would you expect it on the UI screen ?  By UI screen I assume you mean the 3D Editor view ?  At that point you haven't necessarily sliced anything so it cant have a gcode listing to show you.  Once sliced and you go to the preview then it has data to show.

And if you are on the 3D Editor screen then you cant see the extrusions etc so there is zero point in showing any gcode.  Different screens for different things.

Orca is no different, when on the 3D Editor screen, or Prepare as Orca terms it then the gcode listing is not displayed.  Just discovered that C also hides it in Orca too.  So the only real difference is that PS hides it when the slider is all the way over to the right while Orca doesnt.  Which I already said I thought was a bizarre decision on the part of the PS devs.

Can't complain too much though as the function wouldn't be there at all in Orca or Bambu studio if the PS devs hadn't implemented it in the first place.

Yes... I understand that. As a software engineer, I understand why it wouldn't be in the 3D editor view. Because... yes... nothing has been sliced yet...

When I load g-code into the g-code viewer application I would at least expect it to be a collapsible panel that makes it obvious where it's hiding. The Legend is done that way. Why can't the g-code panel be the same?
