Good profile for 0.6 or 0.8mm nozzles?

Hi there,

I just got 0.6mm and 0.8mm nozzles for my Prusa XL. I installed them and configured them in the printer and Prusa slicer accordingly. I assumed that new pre-defined official print profiles would appear with coarser settings, e.g. higher layer heights. However, I still have in my Slicer only exactly these profiles:

  • 0.10mm FAST DETAIL
  • 0.15mm SPEED
  • 0.15mm STRUCTURAL
  • 0.20mm BREAKAWAY FULL
  • 0.20mm BREAKAWAY INTERFACE
  • 0.20mm SOLUBLE FULL
  • 0.20mm SOLUBLE INTERFACE
  • 0.20mm SPEED
  • 0.20mm STRUCTURAL
  • 0.25mm STRUCTURAL

I was assuming to have 0.30mm and 0.4mm profiles or even more.

I asked the official Prusa support and they just stated that this is it and no other profiles are supported for 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzles. They suggested to experiment with custom adaptions but had no concrete tips.

So I tried to print with the aforementioned profiles, e.g. "0.25mm STRUCTURAL" with a 0.6mm nozzle instead of a 0.4mm and got even slightly longer print times for large models.

What do I miss? Any suggestions? Are there any unofficial recommendations for settings for 0.6 or 0.8mm nozzles?

Cheers,

Ook

Did you go through the configuration wizard again and enable the 0.6 and 0.8 nozzle XL printers? I just did and got thicker layer height print profiles.
