Function of "Print host upload queue"

I'm playing with PrusaSlicer while waiting for Mini. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what does "Print host upload queue" do?

If you configure printing via Octoprint, queued jobs will appear there.

Or, in the upcoming 2.2, you can upload directly to FlashAir cards too.

Ah, forgot that was coming. Just tested with PrusaSlicer 2.2.0-alpha4 and it works quite nicely. There are options for Duet and AstroBox as well (untested).

This function is valid on the MK3S ?
Does it use the onboard 2Mb flash chip or it used for something else ?

Thanks

I can send files directly to a configured FlashAir card after slicing in the latest  PrusaSlicer alpha release. The files are written to the root of the storage area you configured during setup. Not sure what 2MB you're referring to.

What is FlashAir?

I don't know what the 2 Mb flash memory soldered on the Einsy Rambo card is for.

Do you know ?

https://lmgtfy.com/?q=Toshiba+FlashAir there you go.

Summary is its a wifi enabled SD card.  You fit it to your printer instead of the normal SD card and when its set up correctly you can then upload your files to the card via wifi.  You still have to start a print from the lcd but seeing as you should be there for the first layer at least anyway that's not too much a hardship.

Useful if you don't want to run Octoprint.

As for the boards flash memory, I dont know but its likely to store the firmware or parts of it like language files etc.

@bobstro

One question about Print Host Upload, will slicer just upload the GCode to Octoprint and then I would trigger the print from the Octoprint web interface or Slicer would upload AND also start the print? If this last thing happens, will my computer be the one tied to the print (AKA cant reboot) or will the Raspberry Pi with Octoprint be in that state?

Thanks for helping me better understand how it works.

Cheers

You can tell it to just upload or to upload & start the print.

The gcode is on the FlashAir card / Octoprint Pi at that point so you can safely turn off your computer.
