Force external perimeters to print same direction?

I have wondered this for several years now, and see very little (but some) discussion of it here on the forum.

With certain types of filament (specifically silk and semi-translucent filaments) it is evident when the external perimeters don't all print in the same direction. Technically speaking the prints are not defective -- but the way the light reflects off the layers is different if the direction changes (especially if there are any visible ringing artifacts). For aesthetic parts this bothers my OCD. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to implement a function to force all external perimeters to print the same direction.

For reference, the print in this pic is 0.2mm layers, and the walls are 2 perimeters thick, printed on a MK4S. There are little "windows" in the part, which is what is causing the perimeters to change at regular intervals.

Thank you!

Not possible with Prusa Slicer currently.  Its been requested though https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/7575   although like many requests there's been zero movement on it in the last 3-4 years.

If you want that sort of feature you need to look for a different slicer.  Orca for example.

Thanks, Neophyl. I haven't used OrcaSlicer, and wasn't aware that they offered this feature. I'll have to look into it.
