First layer speed, per filament

Hi,

Is there a way to change the first layer speed for a specific filament? I have one that needs a slower first layer than most. I would rather not have to save a different printer profile just for this filament. I see all the speed settings on the filament tab, but no obvious way to change the first layer speed other than on the printer tab.

Thanks!

You have already found the solution  - save a new profile; name it something meaningful and either delete it when the particular filament is used it or keep it for similar tricky filaments and tall narrow parts that need a really well stuck down first layer.

But that's not the solution I find intuitive or helpful. I don't want to have to remember which machine config I have to use for which filament, and take care to change it every time I use that filament, and have to deal with the mess that is config updates vs. old saved machine presets, etc...

That why I specified meaningful names - one other method, not actually answering your question but addressing the underlying problem, is to make all the adjustments then save a project file - with a meaningful name - and all the settings will be saved along with the structure.

A sneaky alternative is to save a pro-forma project with all the settings and then when you next need those settings load the pro-forma project and import the part into the pre-adjusted environment.
