First layer speed after color (M600

Hello,

After changing the color with M600, the speed is the same(?) as the layer before.

In my opinion would it be helpful for printing quality, to use the "first layer speed" for starting with the new color = first layer of the new color.

Is there a setting I missed?

Thank you and Happy Holidays from Germany.

Best regards, Peter

I'm not sure if I understand your question...
If you use change color at certain layer, then that layer will be printed at the same speed as without changing color. If it happens, that layer is printed slowly after changing color, then that's because layer has probably shorter path -and again, that layer would be printed slowly even without changing color.

Thanks for your reply.

I am looking for a setting, that changes the speed after a color change for one layer to the first layer speed.

Best regards, Peter

There isn't one as its not needed.  The reason the first layer has a slower speed usually is to make sure it sticks to the dissimilar print surface.  When printing plastic on plastic then there is no need to slow it down.  Its no different from any other layer.  Have you actually used it and had an issue or is this something you are worried about for no reason ?

If you really think its needed then you could insert custom gcode at specific layers though to cause a slow down in the same way you insert a colour change but you would have to insert another on the layer above to put the speed back to what it was.
