Feature Request - extend bridging connections into model
The general consensus to improve bridging, after trying more fan, slower speed, etc, is to lower the temperature.
This I have found to work, however temperature was lower than my target temperature by 20C
As you can see in the linked video https://youtube.com/shorts/vAKsgyiOsZo , when printing at target temperature, the filament strand stretches out nicely but fails to attach the ends.
I request an 'extended bridging' feature so these strands adhere better, which will vastly improve bridging quality for everyone.
As a test and proof of concept, using the built in calibration tool, I manually rana print, then edited the gcode to extend the bridging contact area at each end of the strands, and results speak for themselves - greatly improved bridging at my target temperature.
RE: Feature Request - extend bridging connections into model
Feature requests should be made over on the Prusa Slicer github. The forum is great for thrashing them out to get to a good point for the request but after that they need to go there as then they are given a number and are tracked. While the Dev's do occasionally look in at the forum its not where the focus is.
However it looks like this has already been raised (several times) for example https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/1284 (from back in 2018). Or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/6431 or maybe https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/134
So it might be time to go add to one of them and bump it up. As there are over 2000 open issues the amount of traffic an issue gets helps in giving it a priority.
