Embed Magnet

Hi,

I'm looking to embed a magnet and do a colour change. I've got the space in my model for the magnet but can't get the slicer to cap off the space. The hole for the magnet just keeps going through the shell when I slice. The model is fine but the slicer is keeping the hole open. I'm wondering if I need to put another mesh in the hole?

RE: Embed Magnet

I think the newer slicer (4.2.x) has this issue with filling holes on at least some AMF files.  I leave spaces on models every day for weights and magnets and am having a bit of an issue with this since switching to the newest slicer version.

You can try making 2 different files.  One the solid version of your model (no empty space for magnet) and the other a solid version of the hole (save it in the exact spot you want it).  Then use the solid "holes" as a negative volume (right click the model in the slicer).

Good luck!

R.
