Edit the uneditable printer presets?

I want to use a text editor to change the unmodifiable printer presets.

I have turned off the skirt and brim a million times. I am tired of it.

Where are these presets kept?

Thanks, Thomas

The configuration folder (wherever it is on your system) can be shown by starting PS and going to Help>Show Configuration Folder.

When that opens there are sub folders for various things, including Print, Printer and Filament.  These folders contain the various settings in .ini files.  You can edit with any text editor.
There is also the Vendor folder which has the various Vendor files inside.  The Vendor ini files have a hierarchy structure when presets are based on other ones in a tree fashion so you change a step further down and it applies the change to anything using that dependency, unless the branch specifically over rides it.

Changing them isn't hard, although The problem you will encounter though is that the next time the files are updated PS will update them and wipe out your changes.  So you will have to go in and change them again.  Either that or you never allow the software to do any config updates ever again.

Another option might be to set up a blank file the way you like it, and start with that file for each new project, it should always show up in resents. I do this with a file that has tools and styles I use often, as well as has my favorite settings already setup for me ready to go.

Good Luck

I do something similar, but every time I open a factory preset, it bugs me.

Thanks a bunch for your answer.

Make a copy. Click on save, change offered file name, amend.
