Curved part has no infill inside the shell
I have the attached part that I am printing for a customer. I am printing on a Prusa i3 Mk3S+ with a .6mm nozzle. I have included my current layer, perimeter and infill settings. As you can see in the images the shell has no infill.
I have tried:
- Orientations:
- Standing up
- The curved side of the shell tangent to and touching the bed (concave side up)
- 180 degrees from tangent (concave side down)
- Infill percentage from 20%, 30%, 50%, 60% and 100%.
- Arachne and classic slicing engines
The curved portion of the shell never has infill, no matter what I do.
RE: Curved part has no infill inside the shell
Instead of posting a few screen shots of your settings, please save your project from within PS (File>Save Project As) and then take the resulting 3mf file, ZIP it up and attach it. Must be zipped for the forum to accept it. A 3mf project contains ALL the settings used and is the single best way to debug any issues you may be having. Please help us so we can help you.
There are so many settings that all interact as well as slicing is very model specific that without all the details anything is basically a guess.

Here's the project file. Thanks for the heads up
RE: Curved part has no infill inside the shell
You have "Only infill where needed" ticked, Un-Tick it.

Thank you. That's interesting. Is that a new setting or have I just never noticed it before?
RE: Curved part has no infill inside the shell
It's a relatively new setting. and, I believe the basis on whether it adds infill, or not, is measured on supporting the top of the model in that area, rather than bracing the sides of a structural item so if you look at higher areas of your model in the section without infill, you will probably see that the model does not need infill to support the top layers... in my opinion, it's a setting that helps speed up decorative prints and reduce filament utilisation.

@chris-white
It's been there since at least version 2. you probably just missed it, maybe even ticked it by accident since its not ticked by default.

Thank you for the help. I probably should have noticed it but I'm back on track 🙂
