Command Line --Merge Limitations?

Hi all! I have been doing some automation that utilizes the Prusa command line. What I have found is if I pass any number of STLs into a slice command with the --merge switch, once the models are too large to fit on one bed, it simply places the extra models off the bed but still slices and creates the gcode output file. In the GUI, up to 9 additional beds are rendered to which you can then export all 9 beds with different names.

So, my question: Is it possible to supply more stl models than what can fit on one bed, but have the Prusa engine auto create additional beds, thus additional gcode output files, rather than just a single gcode file with any model that can't fit on the bed off to the side and out of bounds?

Right now, I am using some scripting to do some guess work on when too many models are being sliced, then breaking the list of stl files to be sliced into groups so I get multiple gcode files without modes off the bed somewhere outside of the bed itself.
