Chamber temperature not followed on XL with enclosure
Have 2.8.0, latest firmware on XL with the prusa enclosure. Setting the Chamber temperature has no effect.
Do not see any documentation on this.
RE: Chamber temperature not followed on XL with enclosure
Why should it ? The XL enclosure does not have any heating capability from what I can see, just filtration. So while the environment is more stable in regards to eliminating drafts etc in the enclosure due to the physical construction, it itself has no thermistor (beyond what is already part of the XL for monitoring the existing things like bed temp and hotend etc) so it can't read a chamber temperature and no sperate heater to keep such a temperature stable.
The settings in PS are there for printers that are fitted with such accessories.
RE: Chamber temperature not followed on XL with enclosure
Just got my Prusa XL setup with Prusa's enclosure. The newer firmware available now does read out an enclosure temperature. I've read elsewhere that the temperature comes from the print head or something. Anyway, despite the XL enclosure not officially being "heated", it would still be helpful to be able to set a temperature where the fan would kick on to cool the chamber down. I'm often printing in a cooler room, but I'd like the printer enclosure closed (for dust, noisy, etc.) while printing, but also make sure that if I'm running my PC in the same room for a while and the room gets hotter and the inside of the printer gets warmer, that the fan will kick on to cool itself down to avoid any print failures during really long prints. My $0.02.

Thanks. I actually turned off the fan. Still did not get hot enough. However then we had a hot summer. Turned off air conditioning, that did the trick. Need some kind of heater.

I agree. A heater option would be helpful! I'm hoping they'll release the Hackerboard for the XL like they did for the MK4S. With the cost of the XL, I wish they'd launch on XL first, or at least at the same time as the MK4S. It seems the MK4S gets all the new stuff.
