Cannot split a file
Version 2.8.1 I am trying to split the base from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4712667 and use dowels to join it but I get the following error PrusaSlicer has a warning: Open edges or errors were detected after the cut.Do you want to fix them by Windows repair algorithm?" I click Yes and then try to export the parts, I get Error: Unable to perform boolean operation on model meshes. Only positive parts will be exported. I can export everything but the sides of the base do not have the holes where the dowels should go. Anyone know how to fix it? Thank you.

Wow! Almost a year later with no answer and the problem still happens. Doesn't matter what kind of file I try to split,

Works for me!
the Base did have errors, I did use the repair algorithm
I applied three joiners and both pegs and holes appeared
I tried cutting in a different plane 
that worked as well...
