Bridging overlap on previous layer question

I am having poor performance of bridging with PETG. While playing around with it, I'm finding in some instances the connection points to the previous layer are insufficient.

Is there a way to force more overlap to make the bridge layer stick down to the previous layer, before it extends into free air?

I've been playing around with adding ribs over the area rather than a solid bridge with cutouts added afterwards, because it changes how the slicer builds the bridging.

There is often 'solid infill' covering the area where the bridging would be best to anchor to the previous layer. Sometimes this infill completely fills the anchor area, and then my bridging is started over free air!

Playing with perimeter count affects this, but it has other negative consequences, I'd like to better control how the bridging anchors are built...

The attached zip file has a bunch of jpegs showing these layer changes.

Anyone know of a detailed guide to cover the slicer performance? The knowledge base is fairly limited in this.

RE: Bridging overlap on previous layer question

There are numerous issues on the PS github for this.  https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/9999 for example.  Or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/11633 or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/12144

There are many more.  Simple answer is there are no 'easy' fixes.  Or even fixes in many cases.

Thank you for those links. It sucks that this has been a reported issue for nearly a year, and no one seems to be fixing it....

Is there an upvote feature I can use in github to suggest Prusa fix it?

RE:

Yeah github allows you to add basically a thumbs up to an issue.  Prusa have their own priorities though so it is debateable if it makes any difference.  A popular social media campaign seems to work better.
