Blocking where support can 'grow' from on build plate
So I know Support Blockers don't block the actual support structure, they block PS from generating support for roofs/overhangs they touch. But I'm trying to limit where support can start on the buildplate.
I want PS to generate support for my entire 'roof'. But is it possible to have the support to start as small as possible on the buildplate and grow at an angle to where it needs to go?
I ask because I'm printing a endcap model, and the support is taking up the entire floor. Makes it hard to remove the support. (I'd rather not print it upside down because the cap will look ugly.)
RE: Blocking where support can 'grow' from on build plate
You could probably add some extra small parts in the interior of the cap and use them to block supports from being added. But this is an example in which I'd model supports directly into my design.

For that particular example have you tried setting the support first layer expansion to zero ? You can also increase the xy separation value. Set it to 1-2mm.

Thanks Neophyl, that does make it better. Gives enough space to work with now.
fuchsr, any advice on how to model supports? Particularly on how to make it so that it breaks away easily. (I model using blender if that matters)
