avoid crossing perimeters - no effect with small text?
I have a small part with tiny - text is ~0.45mm. Watching the print closely, first layer adhesion of the print looks great, but with even the most minor 'bump' the 2nd/background extruder will detach the individual characters. I got slightly better results re-running tool offset calibration, and decreasing speed to 50% ... but many characters are still affected.
The problem is that the red traversing the white will just sometimes make some contact, even well calibrated. There are of course numerous retractions & hops in the text(white), plus it's not a perfect process to begin with. I thought this would be a perfect application for 'avoid crossing perimeters, but as best i can tell (comparing the g-code with it on/off), it has no effect.
attached the print, for reference, in color print mode (Extruder position is the end of the accompanying GIF), and the GIF showing the motion where the background extruder follows essentially the same path as when sliced w/out "avoid crossing perimeters" checked.
My setup:
- XL5t
- white on e2 w/ 0.25mm nozzle, red on e4 w/ 0.6mm nozzle
- note watching the first layer, it's very clearly pulling off the first layer during translations, not extrusion.
- prusaslicer latest, 2.9.2
- while i am just printing a tiny section to debug this (4min print), I CAN tell 'avoid crossing' is doing something as with it enabled stealth mode time jumps from 4min to 5min (normal mode, which is what I"m using, is 4min in either config)
