Another weird issue with dual extruders and multiple parts

PS 2.6.0 + Win64:  I designed a label holder for my Flashforge Creator Pro 2 IDE printer to show the currently installed filament type and color.  The holder allows me to slide in two label plates (one for color, one for material).  Today I was printing some additional color/material plates when I ran across something a bit funny with Prusa Slicer's 'Add Part' feature.

As shown in the screen grabs below, I first dropped the base plate onto the print plate, and then used the 'Add Part' feature to drop the plate text on top fo the plate.  This part worked great, but when changed the text model extruder from 'default' to 'Extruder2' I got unexpected behavior - the entire assembly appeared to be configured to print using Extruder 2.

So then I changed the text from 'Extruder2' to 'Extruder1' and re-sliced, and now I got a believable configuration - not the one I wanted, but at least believeable.  It appears as if the 'default' configuration is for printing on Extruder2, not Extruder1 - is this correct, or (more probably) am I missing something?

I tried attaching screengrabs showing all three configurations described above, but apparently I can only attach one - bummer 🙁

Frank you have to use the Add Media button to insert multiple images.  If you don't they are just done as attachments.  Also for future reference most file types are required to be zipped up to allow them to be attached.

If you want to demonstrate a issue or ask a 'how to' the way its normally done is to create the situation in Prusa Slicer and then use File>Save Project As.  That will save a 3mf file.  A 3mf saved from PS contains not only the objects you are working with but a copy of the 3 active profiles, any modifiers, placement etc.  Its a snapshot of your slicing environment.  With a 3mf people can debug things much much easier.

Of course with the recent forum server update the attachment has been a little hit and miss with permission errors, for example your image when clicked on just shows as a small white square with a cross in it , ie missing.  So at the moment zipping things up and using an external site is the only real option.  Many people wont download from external file stores though so its a catch 22.
