A feature request for PrusaSlicer.
Hi! First post, I'll be short.
I would like to request a layer height modifier, the one that would split the current layer height in two or three. This way, you can print the top of an object in thinner lines, and after doing two or three passes proceed to taller objects with standard layer height. Thank, you!

Again, in PrusaSlicer layer height isn't only global to all the objects on the plate. See this PrusaSlicer project:
Here, I have 3 objects (all from the default shape gallery). The bunny will have the layer height of the print settings (in this case 0.20mm). The screw will always print at 0.40mm layer height even if you change the print settings. The 3DBenchy has variable layer height applied (adaptive at 50%, smoothed once with a radius of 5) and will always print with different layer heights along the z-height even if you change the print settings. All three objects will print at the same time with their own individual layer heights. Perhaps this isn't what you are asking about? Your name is written using the Cyrillic alphabet so I suspect there may be a language/translation issue here. You don't include your home country in your profile so we don't know exactly where you are from, but I suspect it isn't the same country as me (USA), or Joan and Neophyl (both UK).
I didn't demonstrate changing the layer heights with height range modifiers, but it is a similar application as used with the screw.
RE: A feature request for PrusaSlicer.
have you tried variable layer height and height modifiers?
Is there a problem with the existing options?
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility.Location Halifax UK
RE: A feature request for PrusaSlicer.
As Joan says this can easily be done already. Use a height range modifier to select specific layer heights within a range. If for a more holistic approach the variable layer height tool can be used.
Height Range Modifier - https://help.prusa3d.com/article/modifiers_1767#height-range-modifier - note that for each height range modifier you apply you can set the basic print height as well as change a variety of other settings.
Variable Layer Height tool - https://help.prusa3d.com/article/variable-layer-height-function_1750
Also for future reference this is a user to user forum and all feature requests should be made at the Prusa Slicer github (located here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues )

It's hard to tell exactly what you are asking for. Like others have alluded to, you can change the layer height to be different on different objects on the build plate. This allows you to print an object with a dome-shaped top next to an object that has a squared-off top. You can select the domed object and lower the layer height for the curve of the dome without affecting the layer heights of the squared-off top object.
BUT, you can't change the layer height on different areas of the same object (using mesh modifiers). For example, if you are printing a castle that has towers of different heights, lowering the layer height on the shorter tower to better capture the detail of the roof-edge gingerbread will have lower layer heights of all printed parts of the object at that z-height, even the a roof that doesn't need the lower layer heights. This may cause obvious banding (racing stripes) on the roof from the finer layer lines.

Thank you for all the replies. A know about the variable layer height. The problem is that it is global, affects all the objects on the plate. What I am asking for is a localized way to cut the layer height in half. Say, you have a taller dome-shaped object, and a shorter one. You reach the top of the shorter one. With variable height, you can print the top at 0.12 mm instead of 0.24, but it will unnecessarily transfer this to the taller dome. Or you can have a local modifier to divide the layer height locally. Not crucial, but a nice to have.

Yes, sorry for a rushed answer, thank you for clarifying this. The variable layer height does work when the objects are separated. Sweet. Still discovering the program.
