Suggestion: MMU3 variant of INDX spool holders

The title says it all. I would like to see spool holders in the same style as the INDX but made in a way that would make it compatible for the MMU3. I think many people with the MMU3 were looking for a solution like this when the core one launched. Even better, finding a way for it to work with BOTH MMU3 and INDX.

I am aware that the side panels on both sides might not be compatible, but you could always offer variants of the panels as well as an optional part.

I am interested in what people think about this idea. 🙂

I am pretty confident that Prusa will release the STLs for the INDX-style side mounted spool holders. But where would the filament retraction buffer for the MMU go, and how would the filament be routed? Unless one opts for auto-retracting spool holders, of course, which some people seem to love and others hate.

Mmm, indx forum. No mmu. No buffers. No rewinding needed.

Only adding it here in case the OP hasn't seen this yet, but the MMU3 community version is honestly pretty nice. I made one and was really happy with the overall set up, and you can make one with full filament enclosures or a more bare bone approach for filament.

There are a few different designs on printables for rewinders, but for the dryboxes, I dont see an option to put a rewinder option there, you would still need some sort of buffer system in place.

Also a pretty safe bet when its released, a few people will take the designs and try to make a modification so they could use the drybox set up along the sides, and then feed it through some top mounted buffer system on top of the community version.
