In the most recent email >1 week ago it sounded like there was a heat creep issue they were trying to resolve. Nothing beyond that though

Usually an easy fix.

Usually an easy fix.

I highly doubt a heat creep issue at this late in the game is going to be an “easy fix”.

I guess you are the expert.  Every time I get it in my commercial set up, it is easy to fix.  Usually has do with an error on my part or a faulty part.  A simple redesign of the heat break will fix it.

I am far from an expert. It's just my opinion. However, I'm not sure how you can extrapolate your experience onto something you haven't seen and that hasn't been released yet.

A simple redesign of the heat break on 6000+ nozzles assemblies (assuming that's what it is and on 1200 founder's kits with a mix of 4 or 8 tool setups)??

RE: Update...(Kind of)

In my experience, usually it has to do with the distance between the heat block and the heat sink (cooling).  To be honest, I do not know the exact engineering behind this unit.  On one printer in the past, I reduced the cooling by over “insulating” the heat break.  I am 100% certain they will fix it relatively quickly once they figure out their mistake.

I apologize of my bluntness.  I am trying to stay positive.  Hard to do with recent news.

Is there any news when the shipment for the FE group will be sent?

Or what was/is the real problem why the shipping is delayed?

They did post that the issue they’re working on was heat creep in the hotend.

I mean, if that’s the case… At least you’re not putting out some crap product that they’re gonna have to deal with later. gotta give them kudos. I also suspect that the circumstances of where they run the heat creep is probably very specific in somewhat minor. they’ve been printing stuff left and right using those printers and they’ve been turning out pretty damn nice so the question is when is when are they impacted? the printing stuff like ABS or ASA or stuff like that… certainly doesn’t seem to be the case when they’re printing PLA.

RE: Update...(Kind of)

On the Bondtech Discord someone asked "Is very soon almost over or is very soon taking a lot of time ??" Olof has just responded "Very almost over" I know it's not much of an update, but hopefully a good sign!

RE: Update...(Kind of)

From what I’ve seen on the Discords, Olaf has a tendency to make comments like that, that almost seem more tongue in cheek or trolling at times. Where he is just repeating something that doesn’t really give any more detail. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I am reading the same thing on Discord.  I believe them when they soon.  Hopefully, they did not waste a bunch of manufacturing.

Can't disagree 🙂 I don't think he has ever deliberately mislead anyone though, so I'm hoping it's a good sign but not putting money on it!

RE: Update...(Kind of)

I stopped caring when it will ship. Too many false promises on the shipping dates. For now, they can hang onto my $850 interest-free loan. I want to experience the INDX when it finally arrives otherwise I have no reason to keep the Core One. So still looking forward to having it in-hand but not having it is no longer blocking my projects.

The ColorMix (Full Spectrum) stuff seems to be crashing the main website, but funnily enough the forum is still accessible.

Now there’ll be even more eyes on the INDX upgrade.

Unfortunately we still don't have a date, but when we do it will be communicated. That being said, we're at the end of the delay now.

RE: Update...(Kind of)

I coaxed out of Olof that the problem is in the tool head and it will take a while to test and confirm the fix. How long "a while" will be is still unknown.

So what you're saying is I shouldn't worry about saving up the money to make sure I'm ready for that purchase anytime soon.

Not having any idea when its actually shipping is actually par for the course for Prusa.  Still I am, admittedly, almost a Prusa-phile.  Waiting for news, not getting enough information, and not knowing when it will actually ship is normal here and has been for years.
