RE: Update...(Kind of)

I suspect this is part of the reason the H2C continue to make use of a prime tower... which is separate from the fact that it swaps the filament in and out on the right head.

it will not use a prime tower at all if you tell it to prime into the print... and still there doesn't seem to be any downside.

With the H2D and two colors (one in each nozzle) I still find a prime tower is necessary because you need time to build up pressure in the nozzle and to flush out any carbonized filament. It would be interesting though to experiment with this on the INDX.

Prime towers are ok. I have a friend who used it as tile for this shop.  Sliced them on a bandsaw and sanded them smooth.  He finished it with a coat of clear epoxy.

RE:

When do you think Prusa will ship?

From June 1 or from June 30?

Or late?

And how many units were sold if the first batch is out by August?

So there are 3 months of leeway for batch 1

Friday 😉

I would say it all depends on when Bondtech iron their issues out and if there is an agreement that the founders still manage to get them at aheadnof the same time frame as the Prusa orders.

Hard to say really, but with the latest update from Bondtech at least they're making sure it's right before it does ship from either source, and we can all get behind that.

RE: Update...(Kind of)

Bondtech have confirmed that the Founders Editions will ship before they send the units to Prusa to fulfill their orders. So the gap I suppose is how quickly Prusa can pack them into boxes and ship.

I have no idea how that rumor got started.   It would be a bad decision for Bondtech to do that.

It's not a rumor, it's a direct statement from Olaf at Bondtech on Discord. They will not ship the parts to Prusa until the Founder's Editions orders have been fulfilled.

No, I am talking about the rumor that they might ship to Prusa first.

It starts out as a flippant/sarcastic 'retail edition will probably ship before/same time as founders edition', then someone who possibly doesn't have English as their first language reads it, takes it literally and that's it... a baby rumour is released to run free in the wild.

RE: Update...(Kind of)

They have been pretty clear that they will not ship any units to Prusa until all the founders orders have been fulfilled. This could result in a slight overlap for the final shipments out. I mean it makes sense considering Core one orders are only part of the FE customers.
Gustav, the manufacturing director and son of the founder, has reaffirmed that a couple times on discord. Also that until you get a tracking number everyone is entitled to cancel their order for a refund. Because of this it makes me more comfortable and I can see that even people that frequent this forum have noted that Bondtech have refunded their orders without issue.

I can confirm that from personal experience. I had already paid in full, then decided to switch to a different multi-material printer since I could not accommodate the announced INDX delays. Bondtech refunded my order without any hassle and very promptly -- actually processed the refund on a weekend.

How may this shopping offer may fit in the current situation?
Did they order lots of founder edditions or where do they think the kits will come from within about 3 weeks?

I have no idea how the customs prices are currently in the USA, maybe it could be because of that?

The price, the declared lead time, the photo all send a clear message: "We can't be trusted."

I don't want to call it an outright scam. But at the very least it is greedy pricing and a negligent product description.

I guess even in a niche hobby like ours there are scalpers.

That price makes it worth waiting.

RE:

🤣 I was curious myself. I’d imagine the tax is just higher where I live making up the difference!! Never heard of the website before but a Spain based Official Prusa reseller when I went and checked on Prusa list. The price is scalping essentially. Surprised Prusa don’t have rules around that for their resellers
